Message From Ibusa Association Patrons To Sons And
Daughters Of Ibusa.
To:       The Sons and Daughters of Ibusa

From:    Professor Augustine O. Esogbue, FAS, NNOM

Dear Ibusa Association USA, Inc. Leaders,

I am deeply saddened by the recent unfortunate developments and
the frightful thought that the mission we all embarked upon over a
decade ago in Washington, D.C. and worked so assiduously to
nurture is about to be dashed to the ground, ironically in
Washington, D. C.  The current impasse is all the more disquieting
disconcerting in view of the fact that our people, at home and
elsewhere, had hitherto been looking up to us as exemplary
ambassadors and as that singular ray of hope divined for the
resurgence of our homeland, Ibusa.

When will Ibusa know peace? When will we all learn to work
cooperatively, setting aside any latent mistrust, recalcitrance, and
age-old quarrels, fanned by relatively recent egocentric dogmatism
to move on a progressive trajectory? Where is the spirit of give and
take in our leadership and some attempt to emulate the basic tenets
of democracy as practiced in our communities here in America?
Why must it be "my way or the highway"? Who ever told any of us
that we individually have the absolute corner on being right?

As you can see, I fully endorse the attached document and appeal
to the best in each of us. Let us arrest our egos and respond
positively to this call for Ibusa unity so that we can together march
on and reclaim our fundamental goal of rescuing our homeland
which has been pummeled by the age old tendency to fight singular
leadership. It is clear, at least to me, that we can not get to the
promised land of progress by constant reference to traditions of
yore especially those facets that have retarded our ascendancy to
the 21st century culture of progress for all our people.
